The Nissan Altima in the L30 body is a fairly durable and unpretentious model, but it rots, like many Japanese, more intensely than you expect from it. Such consideration also befell this specimen, alas :(
This car was produced exclusively for the US and Canadian markets (from 1997 to 1999, after restyling from 1999 to 2001). The car was equipped with one naturally aspirated engine with a volume of 2.4 liters, 150 (155) hp. on a chain codenamed KA24DE. The transmission was both manual (5-speed) and automatic (4-speed). There were 4 trim levels (it seems): GXE, SE, XE and GLE.
Nissan Altima 2nd generation (L30) is a rare car for the countries of Europe and Asia, it was purchased and brought from the states to these markets exclusively “for itself” and did not gain any popularity among car enthusiasts due to the lack of any information (there is simply practically nothing about this model who didn’t know) and besides, it is very difficult to find spare parts for this car (in most cases, only selection or ordering from America).
If we do not take into account the problems with spare parts (both new, for maintenance, and used), then, I can say from myself, the car is “good”. Visually, it has nothing superfluous, a pleasant-looking body, good interior and trunk space, dynamic acceleration and a decent power reserve, reliable and unpretentious. What else do you need for a real car?
