Faulty electrical wiring on a car can have serious consequences, including a fire. Therefore, when operating a car, you must follow a number of rules, including fire safety.
Do not allow water, lubricant, fuel or electrolyte to come into contact with harnesses, connectors or individual wires.
You should periodically clean the insulation from dirt, check the wiring for insulation damage and insulate damaged areas or replace the damaged wire.
It is necessary to ensure that the wires do not come into contact with heated engine parts, check the tightness of screw connections, and prevent corrosion in plug and other connections.
Repeatedly disconnecting the plug connections may cause a voltage drop in them. All wire connections must be enclosed in protective covers made of rubber or plastic materials.
If a consumer fails, first of all you should make sure that there is no disruption to its supply line. To do this, measure the voltage at the consumer with a voltmeter. If the voltage is normal, the cause of the failure should be sought in the consumer itself; if there is no or insufficient voltage, it is necessary to identify the location of the circuit break or voltage drop using the shunt method. To do this, the end of the additional wire is connected to the consumer terminal, and the second end is connected in series to the terminals of the power circuit connectors, moving towards the current source.
