• 1. Engine and transmission

1.1. Increased oil consumption (2.0 and 2.3 MZR petrol)

Symptoms: Decreased oil level between changes, increased consumption.

Causes: Wear of oil scraper rings, problems with crankcase ventilation.

Solution: Regularly check the oil level, use high-quality oils with manufacturer's approvals.

1.2. Problems with the automatic transmission (4-speed automatic transmission FN4A-EL)

Symptoms: Jerking when shifting gears, delay when shifting.

Causes: Wear of solenoids, oil contamination, overheating.

Solution: Oil change every 40-60 thousand km, regular maintenance.

1.3. Timing chain breakage (2.3 MZR petrol)

Symptoms: Noise from the timing area, loss of power.

Causes: Stretching of the chain due to wear of the tensioner.

Solution: Replace the timing chain and tensioner when symptoms appear.

2.1. Rapid wear of stabilizer struts and silent blocks

Symptoms: Knocking in the suspension, deterioration in controllability.

Causes: Low quality of factory bushings and rubber bands.

Solution: Replace with reinforced analogs, regular inspection of the suspension.

2.2. Failure of the steering rack

Symptoms: Knocking when turning the steering wheel, play.

Causes: Wear of seals and bushings of the steering rack.

Solution: Repair or replace the rack, regularly check the power steering fluid level.

2.3. Shock absorber leaks

Symptoms: The appearance of oil stains on the struts, deterioration in comfort.

Solution: Replace with original or high-quality analogs.

3.1. Failure of the sliding door electric motors

Symptoms: The door does not open or closes with difficulty.

Causes: Worn guides, motor failure.

Solution: Clean and lubricate the guides, replace the drive.

3.2. Problems with the ABS system

Symptoms: The ABS indicator on the dashboard lights up.

Causes: Failure of the ABS sensors due to dirt and corrosion.

Solution: Clean or replace the sensors.

3.3. Rapid battery discharge

Symptoms: Frequent problems with starting the engine.

Causes: Current leaks, generator malfunction.

Solution: Check for leaks and battery condition, replace the generator if necessary.

4.1. Corrosion of the rear arches and sills

Symptoms: Rust, paint bubbling.

Causes: Poor corrosion protection, especially in conditions of high humidity and reagents.

Solution: Anti-corrosion treatment, local rust repair.

4.2. Leaks into the passenger compartment (rear door, sunroof)

Symptoms: Wet mats, fogged up windows.

Causes: Worn door and sunroof seals.

Solution: Replace seals, treat with sealant.

5.1. Radiator and hose leaks

Symptoms: Coolant loss, engine overheating.

Causes: Radiator corrosion, aging hoses.

Solution: Regularly check fluid levels, replace radiator and hoses.

5.2. Thermostat malfunctions

Symptoms: Engine takes a long time to warm up or overheats.

Solution: Replace thermostat at first sign of malfunction.
