1. Engine
Worn piston rings and valve stem seals:
Symptoms: increased oil consumption, smoke from the exhaust pipe.
Solution: major engine overhaul or replacement of worn components.

2. Transmission
Worn synchronizers in a manual gearbox:

3. Suspension and steering
