Connecting rod bearings

More often, scuffing on liners occurs on contract engines (or installed on cars) imported from Europe. The reason is that the oil change interval there is 30,000 km.

Sometimes it’s worth playing it safe and reducing the interval to 5000 km (this is what the manufacturer recommends doing when operating the car in difficult conditions). For example, for those who often sit in traffic jams, go off-road, or start the engine in the cold. With timely oil changes, you can extend the life of connecting rod bearings to 150,000-200,000 km.

Turbocharger

The use of low-quality oil, as well as infrequent changes and low lubrication levels, lead to damage to the turbocharger bearings. The phenomenon on this engine is infrequent, but still occurs.

Valve drive

This engine does not have hydraulic compensators in the valve drive. Therefore, every 100,000 km the gaps have to be adjusted.

This operation is labor-intensive and expensive. It is necessary to remove the camshaft and, accordingly, the timing belt. In addition, you will have to spend money on pushers (cups) of a certain height. But sometimes you can save money: some services modify parts to the required size by grinding.
