Failures in the operation of the air conditioner

Problems in the operation of the air conditioner are found mainly in the 2014-2016 Rogue. Some owners say that the air conditioner stops working after a long trip, especially in hot weather. Then it starts working again after the car is parked.

One of the possible causes is the icing of the evaporator of the air conditioner. This part is inside the instrument panel. Gradually, ice accumulates and restricts the flow of air from the ventilation holes. As soon as the air conditioner turns off and the ice melts, the air conditioner starts working again.

Typically, evaporator icing is often caused by problems with the evaporator temperature sensor or its location. Replacing the evaporator temperature sensor can fix the Horn problem.

Solenoid sticking

A stuck solenoid can cause the Check Engine light to come on, intermittent idling, stalling, vibration, and P0011 or P0014 and P0300 error codes. First of all, it is necessary to check the level and condition of the lubricant.

Often the solenoid gets stuck due to soot (sludge).

All three solenoids are located in the passenger side timing cover near the upper engine mount. Parts are inexpensive, but replacement takes time.
