In 2007, the compact crossover Nissan Rogue was introduced in the United States. This midsize SUV was designed to appeal to people new to the SUV market. In 2013 it was merged with the X-Trail to make them look identical, and from 2024 the car will have three generations. People have embraced Rogue for its safety rating, affordability, and other features. This is one of the most reliable compact crossovers on the market if you've lived through a few troubled model years.

Rogue 2008-2016 and 2018 model.

The Nissan Rogue has a CVT (continuously variable transmission) and customers complain that it overheats easily, cuts out when accelerating, and is slow to respond. Previously, Nissan extended the CVT warranty on some of its models. Many customers have reported problems with CVTs such as the CVT shaking when accelerating and stalling at low speeds. These include noise, transmission malfunction and overheating.

Suspension noise: Many NHTSA complaints involve abnormal suspension shake, popping, and noise.

Sunroof/Sunroof Problems: There have been complaints about the sunroof/sunroof exploding.

Problems with brakes. The 2018 Rogue model had faulty brakes, causing them to engage while the car was still moving out of nowhere.

EVAP (Emissions Control) System Clogged: Gasoline spilled out of first and second generation Rogues during refueling, likely due to clogged EVAP systems.

2014–2020 and 2017–2022

This is a major recall that affects more than 700,000 Rogue and Rogue Sport models. This happened because the car could stall while driving if the key was turned in while it was in the ignition. This can cause a sudden loss of power and disable all vehicle safety features such as airbags, power brakes and power steering.
